Gender Female
Current Home Ierne Weyrhold
Place of Birth Telgar Weyr
Occupation Sr. Apprentice Harper
Hair Black
Eyes Brown

Tall for her age, standing at 5'5", Elayne seems to be all limbs, the gangly, awkward phase of youth mostly cleverly concealed by measured, artificial grace and the willowy nature of her figure. She's a slender creature, yet there remains a sturdiness to points of her frame, such as shoulders and hips, that suggests she's no fragile lady. Large, dark eyes sit in a heart-shaped face, her nose a little thin for her features, made up for by lips that curve easily into a smile. Her black hair usually falls in a straight sheet to below her shoulder blades, but is apt to take on a wave in the right humidity.

She normally wears well-tailored trousers paired with plain, knee-high boots and smart shirts in pale shades, a brown leather jacket to hand when the weather calls for it. At her shoulder sits the knot of a senior apprentice Harper.

History

Elayne (Elle-aye-nee) owes her existence to an arrangement between a greenrider and a brownrider, best friends, who decided that they would have a child for the brownrider and his weyrmate to raise. Ultimately a flight baby, Elayne was given to her intended parents at birth and her greenrider mother walked away, back to her own weyrmate, to sink down into post-natal depression. For the first turn of her life, she was raised by her biological father and his blueriding weyrmate - not that Elayne remembers a single bit of it.

As far as she's concerned, her biological parents have always been together and she was raised by them from the very beginning. The messy, unkind months that passed during her first turn is a series of events that she is completely oblivious to. Ultimately, that time is something that Ebeny and E'dre have chosen not to share with her, rarely discussing that facet of their pasts themselves, but the fact remains: weyrmates were left, weyrs were left, and a mother, Ierne Weyrhold and new twin siblings found themselves in Elayne's life.

She's lived a charmed and somewhat sheltered life, doted on by both her parents, a nanny, and guarded fiercely by two rather bad tempered dragons. The records say that Elayne was apprenticed to the Harpers at ten, but the truth of the matter is that she was put to the piano much younger and grew up surrounded by music - both her mother's and that of all the artists and performers at Harmony - returned to Ierne to be apprenticed to her mother to focus on the performance arts at twelve. She's grown into a reasonably even temper, protective of her mother as she's grown to believe that the greenrider ought to stand up for herself more. But then, as a child, it's so easy to only see one side of the story.

Now fifteen, there are those who wonder that she should be considered a senior apprentice, murmurings of nepotism and unfair advantages flooding the corridors when she must visit the Hall. There's no telling whether Ebeny has finally tried to leverage her status in the vocal world and pulled some strings, or the higher-ups have decided it's time that Elayne see some more of the world, but, either way, she's been posted from Ierne to Xanadu Weyr. Surely Ebeny wouldn't have chosen Xanadu. But at least Elayne is vaguely familiar with the Weyr, having spent several months there as a child. Following a time apprenticed to another Journeyman and as a Candidate, she returned home to Ierne, re-apprenticed to her mother and her focus on her studies renewed.

Does she follow in her mother's footsteps or step out of her shadow? Or are they one and the same?

Firelizards

Cold Honey and Caught Magic Green Anima
A beauty in emerald and sunshine-bright greens, she's a lithe creature, this well-built soul, her musculature subtle and sturdy to go with a frame that promises elegance in the air, no flitting and worrying from place to place. Her nose is dusted with pale mint, dappling edging along her jaw, the paler shade quite the contrast to the dark shadows ringing her eyes and finished with a stylish flick. Her shoulders may be a little slender, but her gauzy jade wings are broad and steady, their trailing edges touched with turquoise. Her claws seem almost gold, just as the rings that loop her tail, her paws neat and well turned out, all the same rich emerald as the rest of her save for her right forepaw. From claw-beds to wrist, soapstone claims that one, unapologetic in its incongruous presence.

Mischief and Midnight Brown Allegro
Large for his colour, this caramel and gingerbread brown carries himself with unerring confidence, his shape a little boxy and tail a tad too long for the rest of him. His muzzle is slender, nose dabbed with soot, his headknobs almost pointed, while his ridges are shallow things that ripple in dull copper. His chest and underbelly are ruffled with wheat and khaki, the same light shades claiming the very tip of his tail and the faintest edges of his jaw. Perhaps his burnt cinnamon hind legs and forearms are a little too stocky, but he seems more built for bounding and jumping than flying, his tawny wings no poor addition, yet maybe second best. A smudge of something near metallic rings his neck, while his claws are of unrelenting darkness.

Berry Black and Blue Arioso
Bright blue is mingled with irregular blotches of darker purples to make a firelizard that's indigo by average. His head has a rounded shape, his blunt muzzle stained with purple that dribbles down his chin to make splotches on his chest. Down along his neck, his ridges are small backward hooks, their hue a darkened navy that makes their sharp points even more subtle. His wings are mottled spans, purple and blue mingled together in a blotchwork pattern, while a few more crushed-blackberry drops mark his back and send drips down his sides. His hindlegs are longer than the fore, and between those hips sits a splotch of cream at the highest point of his back. From there, his tail stretches behind, blue save for the fork itself - a swollen-seeming join with a darkly purple hue.
